Julie M. McCarthy

Julie McCarthy  is a Professor of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Joseph Rotman School of Management. She is also the Academic Director of the Rotman High Potential Leadership Executive Program. Julie’s research centers on strategies to manage stress, regulate emotions and cultivate strong employee connections in order to promote thriving workplace environments. Her work also examines the alignment of organizational policies and practices with the well-being of job applicants. Julie’s work is published in leading academic journals and she has received numerous awards and recognitions for her research.

Julie’s work has also been featured in over 50 media outlets, such as Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Financial Post, CBC, CTV, and Maclean’s. In the corporate sector, Julie has collaborated on research initiatives, training programs, performance management systems and selection tools on behalf public and private corporations that include Deloitte, Microsoft, TMX, Rogers, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Canadian Department of National Defense, among others.
